In our second Ghibli movie for our second anniversary month, we've got a new visitor! Mike joins the show (a different Mike than previously) along with Diana, Dennis, Ed, and Han to discuss Isao Takahata's film Pom Poko. For this review, we go over some bits regarding Japanese folklore, especially regarding one of the tanuki's prominent body features. We also discuss some of the more serious messages within the film as it also contrasts the more light-hearted tone. In memory of Isao Takahata, thank you for all emotions you have given us through your works.
